Restoration & Conservation

Reflection Studios has an international reputation buttressed by broad accomplishments at the most exacting and rigorous levels of restoration in the industry. Our highest praise is the respect of our peers.
As a rule of thumb, stained and leaded glass requires releading every eighty to one hundred years. In the 1970’s when the American masterworks from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries began to come due for preservation, Reflection Studios in collaboration with Steven Weintraub at the Getty, Leslie Bone at the De Young, and John Burke at the Oakland Museums developed the first standards for the conservation of historic works of leaded glass art.
Perhaps more importantly, we have continued to improve and refine those standards through four decades of application. We have been entrusted with masterworks by virtually every notable stained glass artist of the preceding century. And we have learned from every one of them.
